About The Author
BRUCE CORTALANO
Veteran. Educator. Storyteller.
Bruce Cortalano retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of distinguished service, achieving the rank of Major. Following his military career, he dedicated himself to public education as both a teacher and high school administrator.
A lifelong dog lover, Bruce combines his passion for animals with his gift for storytelling in Bowie: The Adoption of a Lifetime. His experiences as an educator and observer of human nature helped shape a story that is both emotionally compelling and deeply meaningful.
Bruce enjoys fishing, reading, creating jewelry with semi-precious stones, and spending time with his wife, four sons, and five grandchildren.
Mission and Vision
At the heart of Bowie: The Adoption of a Lifetime is a commitment to inspiring compassion, empathy, and understanding through the power of storytelling. By sharing Bowie’s remarkable journey from hardship and neglect to love and belonging, we hope to raise awareness about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the transformative impact of rescue and adoption.
Our mission extends beyond telling a memorable story. We strive to encourage readers to recognize the value of every animal’s life and to support efforts that provide vulnerable pets with the care, protection, and second chances they deserve. Through meaningful narratives, we aim to foster greater kindness and strengthen the bond between people and their animal companions.
We envision a future where every dog has the opportunity to live in a safe, loving home and where communities embrace compassion as a guiding principle. By inspiring readers of all ages, we hope to contribute to a world that values animal welfare, promotes adoption, and celebrates the enduring connection between humans and their faithful companions.
